Love. Hate. Debate.

Start a conversation with the ING Collection

In parallel with the exhibition Love. Hate. Debate. itself, ING is organizing a program that will offer other ways of approaching the exhibition, so that everyone will be able to discover it through the angle that speaks to them the most, even those who would not have spontaneously approached contemporary art. This program has been developed with the collaboration of our cultural partners and will be organized around four axes: concerts, conferences, workshops, and family visits. Here is a non-exhaustive overview:

1. The concerts of La Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth

The Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel will offer you two unique evenings during which music will meet the works of art in their exhibition space. Visual arts and musical art - which have developed in parallel over the centuries - will be associated to create a dialogue that will bring to the visitor an extra dimension to his experience of the exhibition. The geometry of the shapes of a sculpture or the lines represented on a painting, the harmonies of the colors, the movement of the waves on a photo ...: all these elements will find an echo in the pieces interpreted for the occasion by the artists in residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel.

Dates: Wednesday 27/11/2019 and 12/02/2020 at 19h.

Concerts accessible to all

Registration via

2. Family Visits

As part of Love. Hate. Debate., ING wanted to put a special emphasis on family visits by offering a tailor-made experience that invites adults and children to share and exchange their perception and feelings about works. It will take the youngest to a space reserved for them and where the works are exposed to their level. These visits accompanied by specialized guides will be offered free every Sunday.

Date: every Sunday from 27/10/2019 until 15/03/2020 at 14h.

Visits accessible to families only on registration via email to

3. Mindfulness Sessions

We invite you to the ING Art Center, in the heart of the space dedicated to the Love.Hate.Debate. exhibition, for a sensory experience in which you open and broaden your perceptions. Prepare to have an exercise in mindfulness: an emotional journey that enables you to discover art in a new way and helps you to avoid obstructive judgments. Immerse yourself in a work that a priori raises or raises your mind, transcends the familiar, explore unknown territory and share your new discoveries together ...

This session is given in French and is open to both beginners and experts. Participation is free.

Dates : Sundays 19/02/2020, 16/02/2020, 8/03/2020 from 10:30 to 12:30.

4. Participative performance – ‘What is it worth ?’

Born in Japan, the Franco-American artist Cadine Navarro (b. 1977) has already lived on three continents, in seven different countries and fifty-five different homes.  She is a true citizen of the world.  While travel has been an important influence in her work, the same is true of her native Japanese culture that informs her perception of the world and is reflected in the way in which she approaches subjects like nature, time and matter.  Performance and active spectator participation breathe life into her works.

Cadine Navarro is also intrigued by the process of growth.  Seeds, natural elements that she regularly turns to, are viewed as time capsules just waiting to hatch.

This year, on 4 March, the artist invites us to take the time to question our value system, at the forefront of public attention in an ever more fragile economy, and to consider the huge potential contained in a single seed, the source of life.  Over the course of an evening of reflection and exploration, timeless and without borders, her performance will push us to ask ourselves questions about this transition.
